The custom foil effect is what makes this an outstanding piece. The menu cover is undercoated with a full layer of white ink, except for on the areas with the lettering and logos, which are knocked out. By not printing white ink under the letters and logos, those elements take on the “foil like” characteristics of the media.  On the rest of the piece, the white ink layer effectively mutes those same characteristics, making the letters and team logos stand out.
